Are you struggling with finding relevant literature while conducting Systematic Review (SR) or Meta-analysis (MA) research? Unsure of how to broaden your search scope, or feeling helpless to obtain more precise results?

When you meet these issues and challenges, feel free to reserve the library for a consultation. Let us help you find solutions.

About

Target

① Current TMU students, faculty and staff
② Current affiliated hospital employees

Consultation Duration

Each session is restricted to one hour.
If necessary, librarians may extend the time or organize a follow-up appointment for you.

Location

You can have the consultation in person or online.

In-person consultations will take place in the library of your institution or campus.

Service Hours

Monday through Friday
9am-noon and 1.30pm-5pm

Please provide at least two different preferred consulting hours.

Requirements

Current TMU and affiliated hospital students, faculty and employees only

Must have an idea for  SR/MA study

Have conducted database searches for your current research

Must provide known search terms and restriction criteria

How to apply

Step 1

Download & complete "Current SR/MA Search Strategy and Terms Form."

Step 2

Fill out the online reservation form and upload the file from Step 1 (must be completed).

  • Citation Managers
    Citation manager, such as EndNote, can be used to collect, organize, and deduplicate bibliographic entries and full-text publications. However, in comparison to specific systematic review applications, they may be regarded more complex. Nonetheless, they become useful when writing articles or reports.

    The Cochrane Library is a collection of databases that contain high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. .
  • Covidence
    Covidence is an essential tool for the Cochrane systematic review production process, which includes citation screening, risk-of-bias evaluation, and improved connectivity with RevMan. It makes the writing process of systematic literature reviews more efficient.
    *We do not provide support for Covidence.
  • PRISMA Statement Website
    PRISMA is an evidence-based minimum set of items for reporting in systematic reviews and meta-analyses. You can find PRISMA 2020 Checklist and flow diagram template on this website.
  • Rayyan
    Rayyan is a review manager that offers a free option. It can speed up operational tasks in evidence-based research, such as systematic reviews. You can use the Rayyan to download your reviews and make include and exclude decisions offline.
    *We do not provide support for Rayyan.
  • RevMan Web 
    RevMan has been designed to integrate with other systematic review software and new features and updates are added regularly. Cochrane Review authors can log in to RevMan to view the dashboard (all reviews) and edit reviews online.
    *We do not provide support for RevMan.
  • Risk of Bias 2 (RoB 2) tool
    Version 2 of the Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized trials (RoB 2) is the recommended tool to assess the risk of bias in randomized trials included in Cochrane Reviews.
    *We do not provide support for RoB 2.
  • ROBINS-I
    ROBINS-I is the preferred tool to be used in Cochrane Reviews for non-randomized studies of interventions, although it is not mandatory, and will require author teams to have sufficient knowledge and experience to apply the tool.
    *We do not provide support for ROBINS-I.
